Do you have a problem promoting your home business?

This seems to be a problem with about 90% of home business opportunities. How do you effectively promote them and still have a life? In this post I’ll go through a few of the groups you can join to get free traffic to your site.

Free Traffic Sources That Work:
Here are some free traffic sources that will actually work for you. You may or may not already know about them but they are techniques that I have used and have had some success with.

Article Marketing:
You can write articles about what ever item or program you promote, maybe write a product review. Then put a link to your affiliate site into the resource box. That way the reader can go directly to your site after reading the article. Two good article sites to submit to are http://EzineArticles.com and http://GoArticles.com. There are a lot more good ones that you can find by doing a Google search.
Forum Marketing:
I think this is one of the most overlooked techniques. It’s the easiest way to get some quick free traffic. All you do is do a Google search for forums that are in your niche, then join as many as possible. I would join at least 10. Then create a unique and creative signature file with a link to your affiliate site. After that, start posting. Ask questions, make comments and join the discussions that are going on. Every time you make a post your sig file will show your affiliate link in it. And if it’s creative enough and creates curiosity, the readers at the forum will click the link and bingo! you have a targeted visitor! Try to make a new post every day and act as if you are really interested in the forum. Don’t just spam them because they will ban you from posting. You also want to make sure you read their forum rules before posting so you don’t get banned.
Google Groups:
This technique is much like forum posting except you don’t need a sig file. Just click on the Groups link from Google’s page then search for your niche. Once you find groups that have to do with the product you are promoting just write a review for the product and provide your affiliate link. You can post several comments and refer people to your site. It’s that simple! Some groups will want you to join in order to post and others will not.

Yahoo Answers:
This technique is a lot like the Google groups technique. The difference is instead of posting to forum you will be answering questions from people that may have a need for the product that you are promoting. All you have to do is click on the Answers link on the Yahoo home page, type in the sort of question a person looking for the product that you are promoting might ask. It will bring back the search results, and all you have to do is answer the persons question by referring them to the product you promote. If you’re promoting something that is truly able to solve a specific problem in your niche then this should be an easy sale.

Simply joining these groups will get you started on your never-ending hunt for traffic to your home business opportunity. A nice bonus, besides the free traffic, is the thinking and understanding you must do about your business so you can properly post and answer questions. Once you really understand your business, strangers will start to trust you and will soon start joining your business under you.
